From May to September Jos Meijer herding her sheep along the Loire.
She would be very happy if they would get from people with enthusiasm for the profession thereby help. Whether you're en route to your holiday destination or want to iron near the herd down, any help for a short or longer period is welcome.
The herd consists of approximately from mid-July 200 ewes and 300 lamb. Then the lambs from the ewes and lambs go home.
It is a win-win situation:
Jos get help with hats and handlers can gain experience, ie help each, no fee.
Jos beware morning 4 hours and in the course of the afternoon / early evening again 4 hour.

The herd starts first week or so 6 Germigny-des-Pres. After 6 weeks they go a few kilometers away where the sheep are placed on an island. It depends on the height of the water level of the Loire or must it then be herded. To high water remains the herd on the island and it only needs to be checked.
Mid / late August there will be another piece along the Loire where the herd can run, 25 km upstream, near Ouzouer-sur-Loire. It lasts until the end of September.
In summer Jos herding basically 7 days a week. There are not many people around her who have the opportunity to occasionally replace its, so that once a day has. It would be nice if people, who come to help, therefore would want / can do a day only. Can not, any help would still fun.
Most of the time camped Jos in a trailer in order to be in the vicinity of the herd.
There are plenty of camping facilities within a short distance of the places being herded.
